So I got my copy of J. California Cooper's "Wild Stars Seeking Midnight Suns" (don't you just love that title?), and I devoured that book of stories. I picked it up from the library at 3 PM. Now it's 6 PM. It's been awhile since I read fiction that was so...fulfilling. Grown up fiction, I tell you. You ever read a book that just...finds a way to say the things you are thinking, the things you want to say? And does it plainly, without a whole bunch of excess garbage to muddle the message?
That was "Wild Stars Seeking Midnight Suns."
I am about to get all her fiction from the library, like yesterday. And I will probably end up buying all of it at some point. I read a LOT of stuff. A lot of it I end up wanting to throw across the room or I end up selling it to a used bookstore.
I love when things capture me, hold onto me, hook me into something. That open space that makes me just...think. That space that evokes, and wants to evoke. Wants to write.
Now onto "Remembered Rapture" by bell hooks.
