It was tripped out. On Friday, I wore this pretty skirt and some fabulous slingback heels to work. With all the compliments I got, you would think I wear a burlap sack and a belt every other day to work. LOL
I mention that to say, that I am digging being a woman these days. I don't know if it's the haircut, the weight loss, or what. But I'm feeling being girly/womanly/feminine these days.
Anyway, trying to write on a somewhat regular basis these days. I'm thoughtful lately. One thing that cleaning out and rearranging my bedroom yesterday reminded me of was the question I have taped to my computer:
What would you strive to accomplish this year if you knew you could not fail? What part of your life would you take off hold?
I thought of this a few weeks ago (around the time of graduation) because I had just deferred paying my student loans for a year, and I thought about all the things I want to do and accomplish. And I had just read this question somewhere, along with an article about the importance of goal-setting.
And I asked myself, "Why isn't what you want possible?" "Why not use this year to really propel yourself forward?" So from now until April 2008, my question is "Why not?" Me and my best friend want to go to Europe. Why not? I want a Macbook Pro and a new car. Why not? I want to visit New Mexico (Truth or Consequences, Ms Apple Bottoms?). Why not? I want to go see my friend in Florida. Why not?
I mean, the list goes on. I wonder how much we want to do that we never get around to because we just don't think we can.
I'm so done with that.
